Thank God It's Monday

It's Sunday night and I'm at work and I'm tired. But for very good reasons. I've just finished posting several photos for your perusal.

Friday Jacqui and I stopped by The Venue for a preview of the "Good Life Experience" party that he and Dion Sanders will be hosting Super Bowl weekend. You'll be able to watch the interview in the weeks and days before the party on 10 Connects.

Later that night I checked out David Byrne's concert at the Tampa Theatre.

I've never been a huge fan outside of what he did with the talking heads, but it was my chance to sing along while making chopping motions on my forearm and ended up having a great time.

I also met up with Steve who owns The New World Brewery, one of my favorite bars in Tampa.

Saturday I was actually up to see a rare sunrise. My friend brother-in-law was is "The Bachelor" from the ABC show. If you don't know or remember Andy Baldwin, where I got a quick tutorial on his website. I booked him for the 10 Connects morning show, our media partner. That might sound all corporate, but it's not really. The people who work on that show are a cubicle away from me, so the strings I pulled are very short. Anyway, Andy and our anchor Janie had a quick chat on the set (watch the video here), after which I'm sure more of America requested to become Andy's Facebook friend.

Other notable funness from the weekend:

WMNF's Holiday Bazaar

Ybor's Saturday Market

That night Colbie Caillat was back in town performing at the Tampa Theatre. She put on a great show backed by a solid band that's grown considerably since her set at The Orpheum just last year. She also performed on The Saturday Soundcheck last year when I produced the 10 Connects morning show. To watch Colbie's performance on the Saturday Soundcheck click on these links:

"Little Things"

And finally, the Pop Lounge and Theater is Ybor's newest club on 7th. Rumor has a music based cable TV network that starts with M and ends with TV is planning to base a reality show at the club. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, check out the grand opening pics. As always, you can find more info on Tampa Bay events, concerts, restautants and bars on Tampabay.metromix.com.

Drunkgiving, eatsgiving, and shopsgiving

Whew!!! The weekend of partying, gorging, and shopping is over. Metromix got busy this weekend covering nearly everything awesome. We got a ton of pics from parties all over the Bay Area. Here's just a taste: For more pics from The Kennedy, Cheap, MacDinton's, Czar, Jackson's, Push, The Retreat and more hot spots, check out our Drunksgiving retrospective on Metromix.com.

Also of note:
My friend and music ally, Dave Leonard managed to score a ticket into the Ray Davies concert at the Tampa Theatre. Here's one of Ray looking straight into the lens.

Now we're looking ahead to the Holiday of Holidays... New Years Eve. Stay tuned.
